About The Position

This role requires a skilled welder with at least 5 years of experience. The welder will be responsible for various welding tasks, adhering to safety procedures, interpreting blueprints and welding symbols, and operating various cutting and welding equipment. The position demands the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain tools and equipment.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience as a welder.
• Proficiently read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient in reading welding symbols.
• Proficient in welding in the flat (1G), horizontal (2G), and vertical (3G) positions.
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
• Proficient in the use and set up of oxyfuel and plasma cutters.
• Knowledge of heat distortion and prevention.
• Ability to utilize Carbon Arc Cutting/Gouging processes to remove material.
• Understanding of types of welding discontinuities, prevention, and repair.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to operate on strict deadlines.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow ADF safety procedures and practices.
• Read and interpret blueprints as needed.
• Read welding symbols.
• Weld in the flat (1G), horizontal (2G), and vertical (3G) positions.
• Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools.
• Use and set up oxyfuel and plasma cutters.
• Utilize Carbon Arc Cutting/Gouging processes to remove material.
• Understand types of welding discontinuities, prevention, and repair.
• Clean and properly store tools and equipment at the end of shift.
• Perform any other related duties and special projects as needed.
