About The Position

BlueScope is seeking skilled and detail-oriented individuals to join their team as Welders. This role involves fabricating and repairing metal into high-quality components. The company welcomes experienced welders and those eager to learn and grow in a dynamic environment, valuing candidates from all backgrounds who bring unique strengths to the team. The position offers a $3000 sign-on bonus, with $1500 paid at 90 days and $1500 at the 1-year mark. The pay rate is $28.58/hour plus a $2/hour shift differential for the third shift hours of Sunday night - Friday morning, 10:00 pm - 6:00 am, with some overtime required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and Shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and Set Up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
