About The Position

Kewaunee Fabrications, an Oshkosh Corporation company, is hiring motivated and experienced welders to join its heavy fabrication team. The role involves welding steel and/or aluminum parts to blueprints and supporting fabrication quality and production. Kewaunee Fabrications provides in-house manufacturing, engineering, cutting, forming, welding, machining, blasting, painting, and assembly.

This is a third-shift position, Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a paid lunch. Voluntary overtime is available before or after the shift. Starting pay is $26.75 per hour, with a $0.50 per hour premium for aluminum and robotic welding and a $1.00 per hour premium for second- and third-shift work. Wages increase every six months until top pay, then annually. A full benefits package is available after 30 days.

Requirements

• Previous metal fabrication and/or welding experience.
• Basic blueprint-reading and mechanical skills.
• Experience with at least one welding process.
• Ability to obtain AWS D1.1 certification.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds; lifting devices are available.
• Willingness to perform cleaning, grinding, and weld preparation work.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, technical training, or equivalent education.
• One or more years of welding or metal fabrication experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld steel and/or aluminum parts according to blueprints using MIG, TIG, FCAW, or SMAW processes.
• Use fixtures to position components and control distortion.
• Perform grinding, cleaning, and deburring as needed.
• Complete required job paperwork and labor documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform self-inspections and adhere to quality standards.
• Support preventative maintenance and assist coworkers as needed.
