About The Position

Environmental Air Systems, a full-service mechanical contractor, is hiring experienced MIG Welders for its fabrication shop in High Point, North Carolina. Welders work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision, fabricating structural steel members. The schedule is first shift, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with overtime as necessary.

Requirements

• Experience as a MIG welder.
• Ability to pass a 3G and 4G weld test using the GMAW process on 3/8-inch material.
• Ability to understand weld symbols and testing requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Good verbal communication with other employees.
• Positive attitude and an open-minded approach to continuous improvement.
• High school diploma/GED, or related experience as a certified structural steel welder as determined by the plant manager.
• Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to step over and work on top of fixtures that are 28 inches off the floor when necessary.
• Ability to work in conditions with varying heat and cold and noise levels at or above 90 decibels.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel members using MIG wire-feed processes.
• Weld in 3G and 4G positions according to safety-oriented procedures.
• Read welding symbols and understand testing requirements.
• Follow proper safety instructions.
• Work in a team environment.
• Perform other duties as needed by supervision.
