About The Position

This role is for a Welder who will deliver high-quality, certified welding work to support aerospace production and engineering teams. The Welder will operate and troubleshoot manual and orbital GTAW systems, follow weld procedures, and help train and guide less-experienced welders. This is an onsite position on 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with a short training period on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM).

Requirements

  • AWS D17.1 (TIG/GTAW) certification covering required groups and positions (1G required; 1–6G acceptable)
  • Experience programming/running orbital GTAW systems (e.g., Orbitalum or AMI) including setup and running
  • Hands-on experience welding exotic aerospace alloys (Haynes 188, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718, L-605/Cobalt)
  • Experience with purge systems, backing gas control, post-weld inspection methods, and executing WPS/WPQ/QTR
  • At least 8 years of welding or related experience, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read blueprints, perform machine shop mathematics, and do basic calculations
  • Manual dexterity and effective English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass company-administered weld performance qualification within a two-week period

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with FAA drug-screened industrial/aerospace environments
  • Experience providing training and skill development to other welders

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions and welding best practices
  • Position and adjust fixtures, attachments, and workpieces using hand tools and measuring devices
  • Fine-tune welding processes within procedural limits to meet conformance standards
  • Read and interpret product and process drawings, weld symbols, WPS/WPQ/QTR, and quality requirements
  • Perform pre-weld cleaning, part handling, and visual/measured inspection of hardware
  • Maintain organized, clean, and FOD-free work areas and equipment
  • Perform setup, programming, and troubleshooting of orbital GTAW equipment
  • Maintain required weld qualifications and provide guidance and training to less-experienced welders
  • Collaborate with Engineering to develop weld processes and resolve issues
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including FAA drug screening and vision exams
