3rd Shift Welder - Oertel Metal Works
About The Position
Oertel Metal Works is seeking a Welder in Davenport, Iowa. The role performs MIG, TIG, and stick welding at various stages of the fabrication process and helps maintain a clean and safe shop. Other duties may include operating a fork truck, moving materials, setting up or operating equipment, assisting with shipping and receiving and assembly, and completing other shop tasks. The company welcomes union welders at the Tradesman, Apprentice, or Journeyman level. Applicants with welding experience who have not completed an apprenticeship may join as an Industrial Worker. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with the option for overtime. Pay is commensurate with experience and union status.
Requirements
- Current, valid driver’s license.
- Experience in welding, fabrication, assembly, or CNC machining.
- Previous work experience involving manual work and physical labor.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Mechanically inclined.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding across various steps of the fabrication process.
- Help maintain shop cleanliness and safety.
- Operate a fork truck, as needed.
- Move materials.
- Set up or operate equipment.
- Assist with shipping and receiving and assembly.
- Perform other shop tasks as needed.
