About The Position

KMC Stampings is seeking a Welder to operate a variety of welding equipment, including a robot welder, spot welder, and assembly equipment. The position works from drawings, specifications, and job instructions under minimal supervision and uses precision measuring instruments, including optical comparators. The Welder also works in a flexible manufacturing environment and helps maintain a safe, clean workplace.

Requirements

• Requires 3–6 months of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Good math skills.
• Basic blueprint-reading, reading, and writing skills.
• Regular attendance; punctuality and dependability.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Interpersonal skills and a friendly, positive attitude, with the ability to function well in a team environment.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, and bend.

Nice To Haves

• Wire and resistance welding experience; state welding certifications are desired.
• MIG/TIG welding preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Highly motivated self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment and machines.
• Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates.
• Use calipers, micrometers, comparators, and other measuring equipment.
• Sort and package parts.
• Verify the quantity and quality of material.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and meet departmental housekeeping standards.
• Strictly adhere to company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
• Work in a flexible manufacturing environment.
