About The Position

The Welder is responsible for performing a variety of welding and fabrication tasks on drilling rigs and associated equipment. The role involves joining piping and metal components, fabricating parts, repairing tools and machinery, and ensuring all work meets required specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED.
Welding certification(s) – depending on the type of welding job.
Current 1st Aid, CPR, or willingness to go through training once employed.
Ability to read, write and speak English to be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
Possess hazard awareness necessary to operate safely within the drilling environment.
Able to work in high places for extended periods of time.
Ability to climb tall flights of stairs.
Ability to work out of a riding harness.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
MUST pass urinary drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Preferably 5+ years welding experience in the drilling industry.
Entry level will be considered.

Responsibilities

Perform various welding processes on drilling rigs and associated equipment.
Under direct supervision, join piping and other metal components.
Make metal parts used in drilling.
Weld parts, tools, machines, and equipment.
Read blueprints, layouts, and work orders.
Weld to specific tolerances.
Maintain welding equipment (e.g., tips, wires).
Produce required quantities of products of varying sizes and complexity.
Fabricate products.
Maintain a clean and safe environment.
Ensure work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Liaise with the Rig Manager, Driller, Electrician, and Mechanic to schedule major overhauls of rig equipment.
