About The Position

BlueScope is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to fabricate and repair metal components. The role involves interpreting blueprints and specifications, preparing and welding parts, safely positioning materials, inspecting work for quality, and contributing to continuous improvement. Associates also maintain material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards such as 5-S. The role is on 3rd shift. Training and professional development are available, including for candidates without prior experience. The expected pay range is $23.41–$25.14 per hour depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. The position is also eligible for a monthly bonus and benefits in accordance with BlueScope policies.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, specifications, drawings, or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
Position, align, fit, and weld parts into complete units or subunits according to blueprints and layout specifications, using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
Safely use lifting devices such as cranes and forklifts to position materials or parts.
Use measuring tools and inspection processes before, during, and after production to ensure materials meet specifications.
Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
Track material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards such as 5-S.
Perform other duties as assigned.
