About The Position

This position involves effectively setting up and operating a Line 15 Welder to join Vane Ring and Adjustment Ring components into assemblies. The role also includes performing rework on assemblies with quality issues or bad welds, and verifying dimensions on adjustment rings using a CNC machine. The Welder is expected to maintain high production and quality standards, make necessary adjustments for quality, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in assembly.
  • Uses hand tools and production equipment appropriate to the work performed.
  • Basic blueprint reading and SPC knowledge required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
  • Licensed to operate forklift if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of high school or equivalent - Preferred.
  • Completion of technical training in welding is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Setup Line 15 welder for the required Model of product.
  • Load and weld Vane Ring and Adjustment Ring components.
  • Unload assemblies and inspect for possible quality issues, including cracks in welds, according to blueprints, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Verify all dimensions on the adjustment ring OD and R/O per blueprint.
  • Operate equipment to achieve the highest production and quality standards.
  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure a quality product.
  • Change filament in the welder and clean the welder vacuum tube as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and report malfunctions and safety issues to supervision or maintenance promptly.
  • Transport completed material as required using proper handling methods.
  • Keep the work area orderly, including cleaning of equipment, floors, and tables.
  • Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Communicate and enforce safe work procedures.
  • Identify and close safety issues and their corrective actions.
  • Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Observe all safety/shop rules.
  • Maintain essential attendance on the job.
