About The Position

This is a full-time Welder position focused on performing precision welding on aerospace components to ensure product integrity and safety. The role involves working onsite on a 1st shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), collaborating with engineering and production teams, and mentoring less-experienced welders to meet quality and throughput goals.

Requirements

  • Manual GTAW (TIG) certification to AWS D17.1 (Groups IIb, IIIb, VII; 1G required) or equivalent (1–6G acceptable)
  • Experience programming, setting up, and running orbital GTAW equipment (e.g., Orbitalum, AMI) for aerospace work
  • Hands-on experience welding exotic aerospace alloys such as Haynes 188, Hastelloy X, Inconel 718, and L-605
  • Experience with purge systems, backing gas control, post-weld inspection methods, and WPS/WPQ/QTR execution
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 8+ years of welding or related experience, or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities listed
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, product/process drawings, weld symbols, and quality procedures
  • Manual dexterity and basic mathematics / machine shop math skills
  • Effective English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to pass required screenings: FAA drug test, eye exam, and a weld test

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with aerospace-specific welding processes and certifications beyond minimum requirements

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions and welding best practices
  • Position and adjust fixtures and workpieces using hand tools and measuring devices
  • Fine-tune welding processes within procedural limits to achieve conformance standards
  • Read and apply product/process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements
  • Perform pre-weld cleaning, handling, and inspection of parts using visual and measuring methods
  • Maintain organized, clean, and FOD-free work areas and equipment
  • Obtain and maintain required welding qualifications and certifications for applicable metals
  • Troubleshoot and perform setup of weld equipment and work with engineering to resolve weld issues
  • Provide guidance, training, and skill development support to less-experienced welders
