About The Position

Sets up and operates saw to cut materials to required length or shape by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints and job orders for product specifications.
• Proficiency in setting up and operating a saw.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to perform periodic preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Capability to load, unload, and move materials.
• Skill in cleaning and organizing a work area.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, band speed, clamping pressure, and special instructions.
• Positions and secures workpiece in saw vises.
• Maintains direct flow of coolant against saw blade and work piece.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
• Sets up and operates saw.
• Issues raw materials to jobs and maintains accurate inventory and location of raw materials.
• Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
• Performs periodic preventative maintenance to assigned machines and notifies supervisor or manager of any problems with assigned machines.
• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the CNC Department when needed.
• Cleans and organizes work area.
