About The Position

Sets up and operates saw to cut materials to required length or shape by performing the following duties. Reads blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, band speed, clamping pressure, and special instructions. Positions and secures workpiece in saw vises. Maintains direct flow of coolant against saw blade and work piece. Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications. Sets up and operates saw. Issues raw materials to jobs and maintains accurate inventory and location of raw materials. Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data. Performs periodic preventative maintenance to assigned machines and notifies supervisor or manager of any problems with assigned machines. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the CNC Department when needed. Cleans and organizes work area.

Requirements

Ability to read blueprint and job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, band speed, clamping pressure, and special instructions
Ability to position and secure workpiece in saw vises
Ability to maintain direct flow of coolant against saw blade and work piece
Ability to observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined workpiece to specifications
Ability to set up and operate saw
Ability to issue raw materials to jobs and maintain accurate inventory and location of raw materials
Ability to inspect parts using precision measuring equipment and document inspection data
Ability to perform periodic preventative maintenance to assigned machines and notify supervisor or manager of any problems with assigned machines
Ability to load, unload, and move materials within the CNC Department when needed
Ability to clean and organize work area
Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
