About The Position

The Welder I (Header Welder) joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding techniques. The role interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to determine the appropriate welding process, and inspects completed welds for structural soundness. The position performs a variety of tasks while promoting safety and production, and produces quality visual, U.T., and x-ray welds. It is classified as safety sensitive because it involves heavy machinery, power tools, and potentially hazardous conditions; employees must follow safety protocols and work in a manner that protects themselves and others.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of related experience.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.
Ability to operate an overhead crane.
Familiarity with welding machines and hand tools.
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Ability to work under general supervision.
Ability to work different shifts.
Ability to pass a 2G MIG root with flux fill and cap.
Ability and willingness to learn to operate basic cutting equipment.
Ability to lift.
Positive attitude.
