About The Position

McWane Plant & Industrial is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The Welder I position will be required to layout and weld together parts using manual welding processes according to templates and layout specifications. The Welder I position is responsible for ensuring that welds conform to all company and government standards. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of welding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.
  • Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Mcwane Plant & Industrial Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Weld in multiple positions (Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead positions)
  • Identify and perform appropriate weld per specifications.
  • Will weld ductile iron and steel pipe and collars.
  • Must always follow all safety rules and practices.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic and electric tools, measuring devices, calipers, tape measures, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, Sander, Drill, Chop saw, and cranes safely and proficiently.
  • Must be able to work in dust and fumes.
  • Will be required to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain certification.
