About The Position

This position involves applying welds according to AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel and/or PTTI weldment standards and WPS. The role requires fabricating materials based on engineered drawings, sketches, written work instructions, and verbal instructions. Responsibilities include performing minor repairs to welding and burning equipment, laying out and burning/grinding materials, and shooting studs per engineered drawings. The welder/fitter will also be responsible for checking their work against drawings, moving materials and parts, and maintaining a clean, safe work cell. This role requires the ability to work a steady second shift.

Requirements

High School or GED
Must pass welding tests.

Responsibilities

Apply welds per AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel and or PTTI weldment standards and WPS.
Layout and fabricate materials according to engineered drawings, sketches, written work instructions and verbal instructions.
Do minor repairs to welding equipment and burning equipment.
Use engineered drawings, sketches, written work instructions and verbal instructions to layout tanks, tank assemblies, covers, cover parts, conservator, and conservator parts, side frames and end guides.
Hand burn and grind.
Layout and shoot studs per engineered drawings.
Check work per drawings.
Pick up and move material/parts.
Remove material from storeroom and complete the draw card.
Keep weld/fabrication cell clean, neat, and safe always.
Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors.
