About The Position

The Welder/Fabricator joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weld-able materials by applying appropriate welding techniques. This is an exciting opportunity in Tonawanda, NY at a growing company.

Requirements

• Able to layout jobs with minimal supervision.
• Able to drive forklifts.
• Able to use overhead cranes.
• Has knowledge of rigging.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of welding experience.
• Versatile and willing to help the manufacturing team while also putting safety as a top priority.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers.
• Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to be proactive and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Detail-orientated with ability to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

• Special skills could include but are not limited to the ability to weld exotic metals, hard face copper, brass, copper to steel, stainless steel, and weld aluminum and alloy steels.

Responsibilities

• Welds in all positions with MIG and TIG (steel, stainless steel, and copper).
• Arc welds any material commercially weld-able.
• Works from blueprints and shop drawings.
• Maintaining current individual qualifications to applicable Retech workmanship standards.
• Be an active team member in the manufacturing plant and assist other employees.
• Other tasks as given by supervisor or manager.
