About The Position
A manufacturing company in Southeast Houston is seeking an experienced MIG and TIG welder-fitter to contribute to its fabrication team. The role involves fabricating and assembling sheet metal products, welding stainless steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum, and repairing products. The employee must follow industry safety practices and be able to operate MIG and TIG welding equipment safely.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of experience.
- Ability to operate MIG and TIG welders safely.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds safely.
- Ability to use heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes.
Nice To Haves
- Fabrication certification preferred.
- Welder/fitter experience highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and test welding equipment for durability and compliance with specifications, and determine whether repairs or replacement equipment are needed.
- Weld stainless steel, galvanized steel, and aluminum.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Rearrange components.
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
- Position bolts and clamps securely and tack-weld parts in preparation for welding.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
