About The Position

Conexwest is seeking an experienced certified welder to weld, cut, and braze metal pieces and products using flame-cutting and hand-welding equipment. The role involves welding components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions and performing precision work in accordance with work orders, instructions, and specifications. Safety is of utmost importance. The position requires close-range vision and the ability to move around facilities and machinery, including climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials, with occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.

Requirements

Must be certified.
Thorough understanding of welding machines and tools, including their designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.
Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools used to produce technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints precisely.
Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments presented in a variety of forms.
Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments.
Ability to weld components in vertical, flat, and overhead positions.
Manual dexterity and stability needed for precision welding, cutting, and brazing.
Ability to see details at close range and to climb, balance, lift, walk, stoop, and carry materials; lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

Plan work-order procedures and gather the tools and materials needed according to job instructions and specifications.
Repair and fabricate items and equipment using cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
Monitor welding, burning, and fitting to prevent overheating or damage from warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Prepare, assemble, and tack-weld parts and surfaces.
Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
Notify a supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
