About The Position

The Weld Support/Equipment Repair person must have a broad knowledge of welding machines and equipment, complete repairs of welding equipment, and repair equipment as needed. He/she must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines, and comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations. He/she must also have excellent work ethic including excellent attendance, punctuality, and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.

Requirements

1-4 years’ experience in welding equipment, maintenance and repair.
Experienced with maintaining inventory levels and documenting the release of parts and supplies.
Knowledge and ability to check all weld machine airlines, gas lines, and welding leads for wear, breaks, and leaks.
Knowledge and ability to check all flow meters for damages.
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, service manuals, and parts manuals.
Self-starter able to perform job duties with little or no supervision.
Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
Able to identify and report any and all problems and discrepancies to their supervisor.
Able to receive instructions and perform job duties in budgeted time frames.
Detail oriented.
Ability to perform quality workmanship to conform with all safety requirements of the related equipment.
Willingness to learn new techniques.
Able to meet the work schedule.
Able to maintain a clean work environment.
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.
Physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.
Correctable vision to 20/40.
Ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors.
Pass a pulmonary function exam for positions requiring respiratory protection.
Able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder.
Able to perform overhead work, as necessary, with a full range of motion.
Not claustrophobic.
Capability to maneuver through openings as small as 18 inches by 23 inches.
Able to move and crawl into awkward positions.
Able to work in static positions for extended periods of time.
Good balance and the capability of standing on each foot for a period of 30 seconds or more.
No fear of heights.
Able to carry tools and/or equipment to their designated work area.

Nice To Haves

Contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
May be required to work in confined spaces.
May be required to work in an elevated environment on scaffolding, from staging, planking, or a mechanical lift.
Tools associated with their trade, or others as designated by their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Complete repairs of welding equipment.
Repair equipment as needed.
Comply with all safety procedures and guidelines.
Comply with all company issued policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Maintain inventory levels and document the release of parts and supplies.
Check all weld machine airlines, gas lines, and welding leads for wear, breaks, and leaks.
Check all flow meters for damages.
Notify supervisors when parts or welding supply levels fall below the required level.
Supply all welders with mig guns and feeders that are in proper working order.
Perform thorough welding equipment inspections.
Identify potential problems that would cause equipment failure.
Perform job duties with little or no supervision.
Identify and report any and all problems and discrepancies to their supervisor.
Request assistance if necessary.
Receive instructions and perform job duties in budgeted time frames.
Perform quality workmanship to conform with all safety requirements of the related equipment.
Learn new techniques.
Meet the work schedule.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.
Complete any other task or assignment as directed by a supervisor.
Report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
Report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment, or broken and misused tools.
