About The Position

This role involves performing weld repairs on metal components using MIG methods. The operator will be responsible for ensuring components meet customer requirements through the use of checking fixtures and measuring equipment. Key duties include accurate recording of production information, inventory system updates, and maintaining production paperwork. The position requires adherence to quality and safety standards, including IATF and ISO14001, and performing minor maintenance tasks. The operator will also be responsible for finished goods inspection and maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience with MIG Welding
  • The ability to safely operate any and all equipment as necessary
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team or on single operations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions.
  • Ability to write effective correspondence.
  • Ability to write and interpret work instructions and work procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers and other associates within the organization.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to use and accurately read micrometers, dial calipers, digital indicators, tape measure, feeler gages, and taper gages in standard and metric measurements.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to feel or handle objects, tools or controls; reach and lift with hands and arms; talk, see and hear.
  • The associate is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The associate is required to rotate their torso and view behind them to operate required equipment.
  • The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and will frequently be required to perform repetitive work tasks.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate machinery; and material handling equipment within orientation period.
  • The ability to pass post examinations for position required training.

Nice To Haves

  • Interested to work in either a 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Holds an AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Two (2) years related experience in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Must be flexible with working hours

Responsibilities

  • Perform Weld Repair on metal components using MIG methods
  • Use of checking fixtures and other measuring and gauging equipment to test and determine compliance to customer requirements.
  • Responsible for counting and labelling of finished components and the recording of all appropriate production information.
  • Enter accurate information into inventory system using bar coding scanners as required
  • Ensure all production paperwork is filled out accurately and on-time
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction, and provide clear communication to co-workers and supervision
  • Responsible to check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools or visual inspection aids (i.e. inspection instructions, operator instructions etc.)
  • Follows Control Plans and works in accordance with Company, Quality & Safety specifications
  • Ensures work area and machines are clean and safe at all times.
  • Responsible for pointing out problems and concerns on quality, productivity or safety related matters.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks such as tip changes, tool changes, and set-up of equipment.
  • Performs finished goods inspection per control plan and operator instructions
  • Work in a safe manner at all times
  • Works in compliance with IATF(formerly TS 16949) and ISO14001 standards.
