About The Position

The FANUC Weld Robot Technician & Assembly Operator manages the automated welding production cycle and final mechanical assembly. The role includes loading raw fabrication parts into customized fixtures, operating pre-programmed FANUC robotic welding systems, monitoring production cycles, inspecting weld quality, and attaching spring components and other hardware to complete assemblies. The operator also performs routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on welding equipment and fixtures. This position works in a heavy manufacturing environment with heat, dust, welding flashes, and industrial noise. It requires standing, bending, leaning, and moving around automated cells during factory shifts, as well as regularly handling materials and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds. Listed shifts are 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working alongside automated machinery, industrial assembly lines, or customized production fixtures.
  • Strong manual dexterity and coordination to attach springs and structural hardware components.
  • Attention to physical layout variations, seam-tracking deviations, and surface defects on raw and finished metals.
  • Ability to interpret simple blueprints, standard operating procedures, and bill-of-materials routing sheets.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lean, and move around automated cells for the duration of an 8- to 12-hour factory shift.
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, or carry raw inventory and final assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort working around high-heat automated arcs, ambient dust, flashes, and industrial noise.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with FANUC robotics interfaces, Teach Pendant operation, or automated arc welding systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Load raw parts accurately into designated welding fixtures and ensure alignment and engagement with manual or pneumatic clamps.
  • Operate and monitor FANUC robotic weld cells using the Teach Pendant to activate standard production programs; perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Monitor automated welding cycles for welding-path, arc-stability, and sequence consistency, pausing operations when faults or bottlenecks occur.
  • Unload hot welded assemblies from fixtures using appropriate personal protective equipment and verify joint integrity.
  • Attach spring components, mechanical tension clips, or subassemblies as part of final assembly.
  • Inspect finished products for defects such as burn-through, spatter, or structural voids before downstream hand-off.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance by clearing slag and debris from FANUC weld torch tips, nozzles, and workspace fixtures.
