About The Position

A private family in Miami is seeking a part-time Weekend Chef to work alongside the household’s longtime lead Chef on a long-term basis. The home is relaxed rather than formal, and the family has a discerning, global palate. The Chef should bring fine-dining skills, a team-first attitude, strong organizational abilities, and discretion in a busy household. The role includes preparing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, served family style or plated, with service potentially moving between the family’s Miami residences. Not every meal is needed each day, and last-minute changes may occur. The schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Friday, the Chef works alongside the lead Chef to prepare for the weekend, rotate inventory, and assist with service as needed. On Saturday, the Chef typically cooks breakfast and lunch independently and supports the lead Chef for larger events. On Sunday, the Chef cooks independently and may prepare all meals. The household includes the principal, up to three children, a Nanny, occasional guests, and a collaborative team of the lead Chef, Housekeepers, and Nannies. The Chef will plan menus, shop, prepare and serve meals, and clean up thoroughly. The household’s favorite cuisines include American, BBQ, California coastal, French, Greek, Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Japanese (including sushi), and steakhouse. The household has dairy and avocado allergies and regularly entertains. The role involves professional-grade kitchen equipment, including outdoor grills and wood-fired pizza ovens. Compensation is up to $750 per day, with guaranteed hours. Local candidates only; candidates must live within commuting distance of Miami.
