About The Position

Visiting Angels of Tyler is hiring a Weekend Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout East Texas, including Mineola, Quitman, Lindale, Hawkins, Grand Saline, Van, and Winnsboro. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, household assistance, companionship, and support with daily activities. Caregivers must respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Shifts offered include part-time 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, short shifts, and day shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and a desire to provide meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
