About The Position

Visiting Angels Tyler is seeking experienced caregivers to provide compassionate care to senior adults and others in need in Mineola and the surrounding East Texas area. The role offers an opportunity to support clients and their families through companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, mobility assistance, personal care, and transportation. Advanced training in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care is available to help caregivers develop their skills. Shifts offered include part-time 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, short shifts, and day shifts.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous caregiving experience.
Valid driver’s license; an ID card alone is not sufficient.
A vehicle with current insurance.
A passion for serving others and a genuine caregiver disposition.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking, including attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate approach.
Good time-management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete independently.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
