About The Position

Visiting Angels of Boerne is hiring experienced caregivers to serve clients throughout the Hill Country area, including Lake Hills, Pipe Creek, Rio Medina, and Castroville. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness according to custom care plans. The role may include personal care and hygiene, exercise, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, medication reminders, mobility assistance, errands, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Have excellent time-management skills and be able to manage multiple duties at once.
Have reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled care times.
Have the physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support a client.
Be comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Be willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients, following applicable dietary constraints.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
