About The Position
Visiting Angels of Baytown is hiring Weekend Caregivers to serve clients in Liberty, Raywood, Dayton, Moss Bluff, Stilson, and surrounding areas. Caregivers enrich clients’ quality of life and support their wellness in accordance with customized care plans. The work may include personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility assistance, medication reminders, errands, and responding to emergencies. Advanced training opportunities are available in areas such as dementia care and Alzheimer’s care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and emergency-response training; training is provided if needed.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple duties at once.
- Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
- Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support a client.
- Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
- Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, such as a background check.
- Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

- Interest in broadening caregiving skills through advanced training in dementia care or Alzheimer’s care.
Responsibilities
- Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
- Plan and prepare meals with clients while following applicable dietary constraints.
- Perform light housekeeping duties.
- Report changes in clients’ health or unusual incidents.
- Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
- Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
- Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
- Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
- Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
