About The Position

The Weekend Activity Assistant at The Harvest of Aledo creates engaging experiences for senior residents and supports community life. The role hosts activities, helps residents connect with one another, and contributes to a welcoming and enjoyable environment. Responsibilities also include transporting residents as needed, assisting and encouraging team members with personalized activity opportunities, decorating shared spaces for events and holidays, documenting participation and activities, and following regulations related to residents’ rights. The assistant attends training and participates in ongoing learning. New hires must complete the screening process required by state regulations, and residency in the state where the community operates is a condition of employment.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• A compassionate spirit and enthusiasm for senior care.
• Ability to connect and engage through strong communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Basic understanding of computer programs.
• Completion of the screening process required by state regulations as a condition of employment.
• Residency within the state where the community operates.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in psychology or kinesiology is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Host daily activities and interactive sessions for residents.
• Use the community vehicle to transport residents as needed.
• Educate, train, and encourage team members on personalized activity opportunities.
• Meet and greet each resident upon move-in to foster community bonding.
• Decorate common areas for special events and holidays.
• Take attendance and photographs of daily activities using technology.
• Understand and adhere to regulations regarding residents’ rights.
• Attend training sessions and engage in continuous learning.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
