Assists the Clare Bridge Program Manager or Coordinator in leading and implementing person-centered, dementia-friendly programs tailored to the needs and interests of residents in a dementia care community. In alignment with Brookdale’s Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, the role engages residents in meaningful and purposeful programs that enhance quality of life, support independence, and honor residents’ abilities, needs, habits, historical routines, interests, and preferences. The assistant helps deliver programming across the seven domains of well-being in a structured dementia-friendly environment, including sensory-focused small groups for residents who cannot participate in larger groups. The role also supports program documentation, regulatory compliance, associate guidance, community events, family communication, quality improvement, off-site programming, volunteer activities, and personal care, housekeeping, and dietary duties as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and a current three-year driving abstract with no more than one moving violation. An associate degree and at least one year of experience with older adults and people with dementia are preferred. Work may involve occasional weekend, evening, or night coverage, on-call duties as needed, occasional travel, and exposure to communicable diseases, latex, blood-borne pathogens, drugs, chemicals, infections, or biological hazards. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Basic PC and word-processing skills and effective oral and written communication skills are expected.
