About The Position

Civitas Senior Living is seeking a Memory Care Activities Coordinator for Harvest of Aledo. The position designs, coordinates, and implements engaging activities that address the social, emotional, and physical needs of residents living with memory-related disorders. The coordinator creates opportunities for meaningful connections, supports residents’ well-being, and helps new residents and families transition into the community. The role also involves coordinating community participation, preparing communications for residents and families, decorating common areas for events and holidays, and managing program inventory and budget. New hires must complete the screening process required by state regulations, and residency in the state where the community operates is a condition of employment.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
Ongoing education in resident engagement and dementia care.
Empathy and the ability to stimulate and respond to residents’ needs and interests.
Strong communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Basic computer proficiency.
Residency in the state where the community operates is a condition of employment.
Successful completion of the screening process required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a varied schedule of stimulating activities and events tailored to residents’ preferences.
Create and distribute monthly newsletters and calendars to residents and families, promoting community engagement.
Educate and encourage team members to foster meaningful connections with residents.
Compile resident biographies and welcome new residents and families to support their transition into the community.
Invite community groups, including pet therapy groups, schools, churches, and entertainers, to participate in the community.
Decorate common areas for special events and holidays.
Maintain inventory and manage the program budget.
