About The Position

Forrest Logistics is hiring a Weekend Account Manager to coordinate weekend freight and keep customers and carrier partners in sync and on schedule. The role runs Friday through Monday and involves taking ownership of shipments from start to finish, making real-time decisions, resolving disruptions, and building lasting relationships. The position supports weekend operations in a fast-paced logistics environment and helps prepare the team for a successful start to the week.

Requirements

3–4 years of experience in logistics or transportation.
Ownership mentality, taking responsibility for outcomes and following through on commitments.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems in the moment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills as part of a team.
Strong communication skills for updating customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
Comfort negotiating with carriers on short notice.
Attention to detail and experience updating TMS systems, tracking equipment, and preparing clear reports.

Nice To Haves

Drayage or port experience.
Customer service or operational experience in the transportation industry.
Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Resolve real-time problems affecting weekend freight, including terminal delays, missed appointments, equipment issues, and other disruptions.
Check appointment availability at terminals and warehouses and schedule or reschedule pickups and deliveries.
Provide customers and carrier partners with timely updates on shipment status, delays, and next steps.
Serve as the point of contact for weekend client inquiries, including calls and emails about high-priority freight.
Cover currently planned freight by negotiating rates and capacity with carriers to protect service levels.
Help Forrest Transportation asset drivers plan loads, solve problems, and communicate with dispatch.
Track chassis and maintain accurate visibility of asset location and availability.
Enter data and update orders in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
Send customers and internal teammates concise reports covering weekend activity, outstanding issues, and required follow-up.
Manage and report on yard equipment inventory.
Recover proof of delivery (POD) documents and ensure documentation is complete.
Prepare detailed pass-down notes, resolve issues, and organize open items for the start of the week.
