Weed Control Sprayer (Seasonal)
About The Position
This role executes noxious weed control across Uintah County in compliance with state and local regulations. Responsibilities include identifying invasive species, mapping infestation sites, and operating a variety of equipment such as ATVs, GPS units, and chemical sprayers. The technician ensures environmental safety by calculating precise herbicide mixes, following EPA guidelines to protect non-target vegetation and the public, and performing routine maintenance on all assigned vehicles. Additionally, the position involves managing biological controls under USDA-APHIS standards, maintaining detailed application records, and educating the public on local weed control ordinances.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of general labor experience (or an equivalent mix of education and experience).
- Valid Utah driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Obtain a commercial or non-commercial applicator’s license (including agricultural-plant and right-of-way categories) within two weeks of hire.
