About The Position

This role executes noxious weed control across Uintah County in compliance with state and local regulations. Responsibilities include identifying invasive species, mapping infestation sites, and operating a variety of equipment such as ATVs, GPS units, and chemical sprayers. The technician ensures environmental safety by calculating precise herbicide mixes, following EPA guidelines to protect non-target vegetation and the public, and performing routine maintenance on all assigned vehicles. Additionally, the position involves managing biological controls under USDA-APHIS standards, maintaining detailed application records, and educating the public on local weed control ordinances.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of general labor experience (or equivalent mix of education and experience).
  • Valid Utah driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Obtain a commercial or non-commercial applicator’s license (including agricultural-plant and right-of-way categories) within two weeks of hire.
