About The Position

Tools for Humanity (TFH) is seeking a UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive, high-quality digital experiences across their ecosystem, with a primary focus on web (90%) and product design (10%). The role operates at the intersection of brand, marketing, and digital, combining systems thinking, interaction design, and exceptional visual craft. The designer will use AI as a creative and production partner to accelerate ideation, exploration, iteration, prototyping, and execution. This position reports to the Head of Brand Design and collaborates frequently with the Global Web Content Lead. The role is based in San Francisco, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of experience in website UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing both strategic thinking and high-quality execution.
  • Proven experience designing high-traffic websites, with a deep understanding of responsive design, interaction patterns and usability best practices.
  • Strong visual design skills with a high craft standard - attention to typography, layout, spacing, and interaction details.
  • Experience working across both marketing and product surfaces, with the ability to flex between brand expression and functional UX.
  • Expert in Figma and modern AI-assisted design workflows, including rapid prototyping, design system generation, content generation, and Figma-to-code pipelines.
  • Be a passionate self-starter with an “afterburner on” approach - ready to jump in, solve problems and push projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extremely comfortable collaborating with developers and understanding technical constraints to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Data-first mindset, with experience using analytics and user insights to guide design decisions.
  • Highly organized, resourceful and adaptable - able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Radical end-to-end ownership: you take initiative, drive progress and get things done.
