About The Position

The Webber positions and secures foundation within furniture frames using manual and powered tools to clip, tie, or staple components into place. The role prepares frames for 8 Way Hand Tiers, maintains production levels and workmanship quality, and properly maintains company-owned tools and equipment. The position is full-time, on the day shift, at Hickory Chair in Hickory, North Carolina.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous webbing experience preferred.
• Able to stand for extended periods and bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist throughout the day.
• Able to perform continuous repetitive motions involving grasping, pushing or pulling, and fine hand manipulation.
• Occasional reaching at or below shoulder level may be required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds rarely.

Responsibilities

• Obtain frames and apply propex or another prescribed bottom, maintaining proper distance from the front rail, side center rails, and back center rails.
• Stretch buttons and backs side to side and front to back with the appropriate tool to ensure quality and uniform workmanship.
• Apply cardboard to product arms and thumbroll as needed.
• Inspect own work continually, maintain high-quality workmanship, and notify supervision of quality problems.
• Complete rush pieces marked by authorized personnel from staging or requested by the Lead Person so the staging area maintains a supply of work for Upholstery.
• Prepare frames for 8 Way Hand Tiers, who will apply the coils.
• Maintain production levels while meeting company quality standards as determined by departmental inspection, supervision, and final inspection.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by the Supervisor.
• Maintain company-owned tools and equipment and promptly report problems to the Supervisor.
