About The Position

ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking a Web Developer to join our Remote Monitoring and Logging System (RMLS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This is a full-time on-site position. RMLS is the FAA’s logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file. We are looking for an experienced individual to work independently and in a team environment. This individual needs to provide expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems. Have experience with software programming languages used for the National Airspace System (NAS) and NAS support systems. These languages include but are not limited to: HTML 5/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and JSON technologies. Should be able to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently, think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to challenges, and collaborate with team members in an agile environment to identify and resolve problems and test solutions.

Requirements

• Expertise in software requirements analysis, design, design reviews, development, software testing, integration, installation, and maintenance of complex computer systems
• Experience with software programming languages used for the National Airspace System (NAS) and NAS support systems, including HTML 5/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, SQL, and JSON technologies
• Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and efficiently
• Ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to challenges
• Ability to collaborate with team members in an agile environment to identify and resolve problems and test solutions
• Excellent knowledge/experience in Web Development (PHP, jQuery, CSS/HTML)
• Excellent knowledge/experience in JavaScript AJAX and Web Services
• Excellent knowledge/experience in Database development background (Oracle/SQL) in an Oracle replicated environment
• Excellent knowledge/experience in Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently, as well as a team
• Ability to research and problem solve
• Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Mathematics, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
• Six (6) to Nine (9) years of related work experience
• US Citizen, US Green Card, or Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA)
• Resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years
• RealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport
• Reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software using the back-end and front-end technologies listed above
• End-user functionality support/field support
• Attend system design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and any other meetings as requested to support program and team
• Work in an agile team environment
