About The Position

The WEB Coordinator is an extracurricular, as-needed assignment at Hurricane Middle School. The coordinator implements and facilitates all aspects of the WEB program, including new-student orientation, student leadership selection and training, mentoring activities, and support for struggling sixth-grade students. The successful candidate must already be a regularly employed professional educator at the school where the services will be provided and must be willing to obtain certification through The Boomerang Project, at county expense. The assignment has a minimum participation requirement of 40 hours and is effective for the 2026–2027 school year. The position is evaluated by the principal or supervisor.

Responsibilities

Implement and facilitate all aspects of the WEB program.
Plan and implement new-student orientation.
Create, organize, and implement WEB leader application and selection processes.
Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and school administration to select a student leadership team.
Develop communication channels between the school and student leaders and parents.
Conduct follow-up trainings and lessons for the student leadership team.
Monitor communications between student mentors and mentees.
Arrange meeting times, advisory lessons, and social activities for mentors and mentees.
Attend and assist students with planning extracurricular activities related to the mentoring program, such as socials, fundraisers, and team events, as needed.
Set up and coordinate an alert, response, and intervention program to assist struggling sixth-grade students.
Abide by established laws, policies, rules, and regulations.
