About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) to improve the quality of life for community residents. GCU has a partnership with NextGen Creatives, whose mission is to foster the creative talents of youth within the foster care system. This CSLP student worker position is approved for Community Service and will offer services to non-GCU community members. The work schedule is dependent on the hours of operation and needs of NextGen Creatives, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and potential for summer work. Applicants must complete their FAFSA to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility.

Requirements

  • Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Be eager to learn new tools and challenging concepts.
  • Be a strong communicator and collaborative team player.
  • Be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Be adaptable and solution-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Performs WordPress website maintenance, including plugin health and backend community management.
  • Manages the "Digital Resource Hubs" which provides 24/7 access to literacy training and advocacy tools.
  • Bridges the technical gap between NextGen Creatives, A Hope and A Future & other entities by maintaining a shared digital calendar and resource portal used by foster families to access support services.
  • Provide support for hands on events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
