About The Position

The purpose of this position is to analyze maintenance requirements and sustainment concerns for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) weapon systems, repair part sources, maintenance procedures, and any limiting factors. Duties include assessing the overall sustainment of space weapon systems across multiple service components and units. The role serves as the technical authority on space weapon system sustainment, readiness, and other assigned technical areas in consultation with Joint Staff, Service Components, and subordinate units. It also oversees assessments and new initiatives related to space weapon system sustainment. The analyst acts as the technical expert ensuring USSPACECOM manages and executes Logistics Core Functions and manages Classes of Supply in accordance with Joint Doctrine and Guidance. Additionally, the position monitors the worldwide location, configuration, condition, and operational status of all USSPACECOM weapon systems using various classified and unclassified automated management systems.

Requirements

  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Position is designated special-sensitive and requires the employee obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP).
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Incumbent is required to have minimum certification and education required to meet standards outlined in DoD 8140.03, Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program for the applicable cyber codes namely: 641 - Systems Requirements Planner.
  • This position has been designated as an acquisition position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). Employee must meet, or be capable of meeting, Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Extensive knowledge of a broad range of space weapon systems, capabilities, support or sustainment requirements, systems owner/operators, associated contract, and overall structure supporting national defense.
  • Advanced knowledge of Logistics Core Functions, Classes of Supply and the Planning, Programming and Budgeting System (PPBS) of the Department of Defense.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of policies, concepts, and procedures affecting logistics, acquisition, supply, inventory management, logistics planning and procurement functions.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses, organizational and mission requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).
  • Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).
