Electrical Engineer, Weapon Systems

Anduril•Costa Mesa, CA

About The Position

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Weapon Systems to join our team. This role involves the full cycle of PCB design, from requirements gathering and schematic design to component selection, layout supervision, bring-up, testing, debugging, and system integration. You will be responsible for developing fuzing circuitry for missile systems and collaborating closely with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors. Additionally, you will develop system interconnect diagrams, define wire harnesses, and provide support within other air vehicle subsystem development constraints. Responsibilities include vendor surveys and evaluations, conducting design reviews, building up and testing system components through lab, ground, and flight tests, low-level firmware development for bring-up and test, and root cause analysis for field operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Robotics, with 0–7+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
  • Recent graduates are welcome to apply if they bring a technical internship or standout leadership experience from an engineering club (FSAE/EV, UAVs, robotics, avionics, or similar).
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current-probes, and automation of tests.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB, etc.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Comfortable with a variety of electronic CAD tools (Altium preferred, Eagle and others acceptable).
  • Experience in design for signal integrity / power integrity.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.

  • Experience with JOTP-052 and JOTP-054.
  • Experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions.

Responsibilities

  • Full cycle PCB design including collecting requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system.
  • Development of fuzing circuitry for missile systems.
  • Closely collaborate with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors.
