About The Position

The Wealth Management Associate Program is a salaried development program aimed at developing sales and entrepreneurial-minded individuals into a Wealth Advisory role. The program offers a strong foundation in financial planning, relationship building, and client discovery skills that are highly valued in Advisory careers. We welcome applicants from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are eager to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives. Our advisory teams work closely with clients to help them protect, grow, and manage their wealth through thoughtful, personalized financial strategies and client specific programs such as the Scotiabank Women’s Initiative.

Requirements

  • Completing an undergraduate or master’s degree by January 2027, or a recent graduate with less than 5 years of experience.
  • Developed a passion for helping others achieve their financial goals.
  • Excited about building a long-term career in Wealth Advisory.
  • Naturally curious, thoughtful, and collaborative, and enjoy solving problems that matter to people.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and enjoy connecting with others.
  • Strong communication skills—listening, asking great questions, and expressing ideas clearly.
  • Adaptable, open to feedback, and motivated to grow.
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial-minded and energized by helping clients navigate important life decisions in a sales advisory capacity.
  • Remain positive and resilient when faced with challenges.
  • Relationship management skills; the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative client and internal/ external partner relationships.
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and build consensus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong foundation in financial planning, relationship building, and client discovery.
  • Gain exposure to Wealth Advisory businesses and their application to an overall wealth strategy for a client’s life.
  • Work with wealth teams in a ScotiaMcLeod office to gain relevant and practical experience.
  • Support training to help prepare for licensing requirements associated with transitioning into a Wealth Management Advisory role.
