Provides mentor support to DSS and RTA youth who reside at Children’s Village residential and who live in the community. As a WAY HOME Coach, staff works to recruit, engage, and support the young people of WAY in progressing towards their education, employment, savings goals, and permanency. The Coach will conduct 2 or more face to face visits weekly with their youth in residential and the community. Also, the coach will assist in facilitating workshops monthly where the youth participating in the program will strengthen their independent living skills. Knowledge of city-wide community resources is required. Coaches will be responsible for organizing groups, meals for each group session, community activities, advocacy, 1:1 coaching, and assisting in areas of social, education, employment, permanency, with emphasis on social and networking development as well as data entry into connections. The goal of the program is to help build positive peer relationships and strengthen social transitions for young people exiting foster care and living in the community.
