About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Water/Wastewater Engineering Interns to join our Holmdel, NJ office for Summer 2027! Water and wastewater management presents unique challenges from environmental, health and economic issues, to regulatory concerns. Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous coursework and interest in potable water and wastewater design work is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects.
  • Read and review project drawings and plans.
  • Enhance technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD to design: Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Pump Systems, Pipelines.
  • Observe project sites and evaluate contractors’ work to detect problems with a design.
  • Perform hydraulic modelling, prepare design specifications and design calculations, and produce technical reports.
  • Support environmental permitting applications and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.
