Woodard & Curran is expanding and seeking a Water Utility Technician in Ft. Meade, FL to perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on sewer collection systems, conveyance piping, lift stations, valves, fittings, and water distribution systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Willingness to work schedules which may include weekend or holiday duty.
  • Willingness to carry a company-provided telephone and respond to emergencies at any time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Florida Class “C” Collection System license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance assignments as part of the project’s maintenance and repair program.
  • Conduct all work safely and professionally, adhering to established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure all work meets project management goals and objectives.
  • Operate equipment for manhole rehabilitation and collection system maintenance.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints.
  • Perform record keeping and data entry, including daily readings of equipment and processes.
  • Clean and maintain facility buildings and grounds.
  • Repair yards according to maintenance procedures.
  • Monitor inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicals.
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding processes and job activities.
  • Assist in the inspection of sewer lines and manholes.
  • Assist in the maintenance and operation of the CCTV inspection system.
  • Occasionally assist in locating utility lines.
  • Assist in Asset Management and Maintenance Programs.
  • Repair and maintain distribution lines, sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
