We also support employees in obtaining and maintaining industry certifications. Woodard & Curran is expanding and seeking a Water Utility Technician in Ft. Meade, FL. This role involves performing routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on sewer collection systems, conveyance piping, lift stations, valves, miscellaneous fittings, and a water distribution system.

Requirements

High school diploma or educational equivalent.
Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license.
Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
Must be willing to work schedules which may include weekend or holiday duty, carry a company provided telephone, and be willing to respond to emergencies at any time.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
Successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.

Nice To Haves

Florida Class “C” Collection System license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performing all routine, preventive and corrective maintenance assignments as assigned by the project’s preventive and corrective maintenance and repair program.
Performing all work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Performing all work to produce an end result which meets all goals and objectives set by project management.
Operating equipment for the rehabilitation of manholes and maintenance of the collection system.
Responding to and resolving customer complaints.
Performing record keeping/data entry, including recording daily readings of equipment and processes.
Cleaning and maintaining facilities buildings and grounds.
Repairing yards following maintenance procedures.
Monitoring inventory of parts, supplies, and chemicals.
Communicating with co-workers on processes and job activities.
Assisting in the inspection processes of sewer lines and manholes.
Assisting in the maintenance and operations of the CCTV inspection system.
Occasionally assisting in the location of utility lines.
Assisting in Asset Management and Maintenance Programs.
Repairing and maintaining distribution lines, sewer lines, manholes, and lift stations.
Responding to emergency situations.
