DRS Pivotal Power, Inc. is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia. DRS Pivotal Power is a leader in the design, development and manufacture of high reliability power conversion equipment for mission critical applications supporting all branches of the military in Canada, the US and many countries abroad. All products are designed and manufactured in house by our growing team of over 100 employees. DRS Pivotal Power is part of the Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics group and has currently over 30,000 fielded units boasting a field reliability of over 99%. Job Summary We are hiring a Temporary Warehouse worker to support our warehouse and production operations. This role is ideal for a reliable high school student interested in hands-on work in shipping/receiving, inventory, and manufacturing support. You will work under general supervision and complete a variety of tasks that support day-to-day operations. This is for 6-8 months. As a Production worker, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): • Receive products and components from Incoming Receiving and Inspection, ensuring accuracy • Place received materials into inventory in accordance with internal processes • Read work orders and follow written or oral instructions to determine materials/containers to be moved • Prepare material kits for delivery to the production floor according to internal processes • Attach tags/labels to materials and mark required information • Open containers using basic hand tools (box cutter, steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer, etc.) • Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves (by hand) • Move materials between storage and work areas (including the manufacturing floor) using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift, or other devices as trained/authorized • Provide general support to Incoming Receiving and Planning as needed • Support, communicate, reinforce, and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Works well as part of a team and supports positive collaboration
  • Maintains positive working relationships with others
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet schedules, and manage multiple assignments
  • Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
  • Currently enrolled in high school (recent graduate)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • All applicants must fulfill requirements for Canadian security clearance.
