About The Position

Metals USA Flat Rolled Group, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Worker at its Grand Rapids, Michigan location. The company processes and distributes metal products and serves the defense, commercial construction, road construction, and fabrication industries.

The Warehouse Worker locates products after an initial processing step, fills orders, packages and tags products, and moves goods to the warehouse for future shipment. The role uses plant-specific packaging equipment and requires operation of a forklift and overhead crane. The worker also identifies defects and packages designated items. Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Basic math skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Ability to read measuring tapes and calipers.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Attention to detail.
• Must have forklift and overhead crane experience.

Nice To Haves

• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience working with heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Locate products that have been completed in a first-step process.
• Fill orders.
• Package products.
• Scale and tag products.
• Use plant-specific packaging equipment, including conveyors, stackers, down enders, and banders, to move products.
• Transport items to the warehouse for future shipment.
• Operate an overhead crane and forklift to move products.
• Identify defects and package designated items.
• Perform other related or assigned duties.
