About The Position

Bay Area News Group is hiring a part-time warehouse worker to ensure the inserting process for its publications is completed daily. The position works a late-afternoon shift, approximately 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Some positions may also handle shipping and receiving or use computer software to manage shipping materials. The role involves inserting and mailroom equipment, moving materials between the mailroom and warehouse, preparing and gathering mail pieces, and cleaning the mailroom. Applicants must be able to work shifts and may be required to work varying hours outside normal business hours for coverage. A full pre-employment drug screen and other required checks are part of the selection process.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, material handling, or forklift experience preferred.
Computer proficiency is a plus but not necessary.

Responsibilities

Hand-insert free-standing inserts into the inserting machine.
Use the shrink-wrap machine to wrap pallets.
Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move materials between the mailroom and warehouse.
Use a jogging table to align inserts before loading an inserting pocket.
Load signatures onto the binder machine.
Load mail pieces into the mail machine and gather addressed pieces off the conveyor.
Clean the mailroom daily.
For certain positions, handle shipping and receiving materials.
For some positions, use computer software to manage shipping materials.
