About The Position

The Warehouse Utility I is a versatile General Laborer responsible for supporting various departments to meet their goals while operating with incredible consistency and detail, adapting to changing needs. This role will perform an array of production and operational tasks, from pallet repairs and sorting, loading and unloading trailers, to facility maintenance, based on the daily needs of the location.

Requirements

  • Experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and tasks.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to work and problem-solving.
  • Ability to use and maintain hand and power tools safely.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.
  • High attention to detail for various production and maintenance tasks.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Capable of repeatedly lifting and moving pallets and materials, which may be heavy.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity for inspecting pallet condition.
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
  • Excellent vision (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus) for inspecting pallets and observing surroundings for safety.

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of duties throughout the facility by adapting to different work environments and departments, supporting overall objectives.
  • Assisting in the operation of pallet production based on daily needs.
  • Partnering with warehouse, transportation, and other supervisors to complete tasks assigned within their departments.
  • Identifying and understanding types and grades of pallets.
  • Delivering on or exceeding the daily production requirements when needed.
  • Operating and maintaining multiple forms of hand and power tools, and equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean workspace, reducing accidents, and ensuring compliance.
  • Escalating technical and process issues to leadership.
  • Fostering exceptional and collaborative partnerships with facility staff.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
