About The Position

The Warehouse Technician is responsible for the Shipping, Receiving, and Storage of material in support of the Center and other agencies associated with on a case-by-case basis. The work environment consists of a combination of an office or warehouse with the possibility of being in and out of a truck setting that can also occur in a non-climate-controlled warehouse. The position requires the ability to manually move freight, stock, or other related materials, lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs, and work in both bending and standing positions for extended periods of time and in all types of weather. The position requires the individual to be a U.S. Citizen, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license without special restrictions, pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, and successfully complete a background check. A security clearance must be obtained prior to employment and maintained for the duration of employment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of (2) Years of Warehouse Experience.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Active CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • Possess an (active) OSHA compliant Forklift Certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting various tasks to include Asset pick-up of equipment of varying size – including preparation and palletization for transport; preparation of requisite paperwork and turn-in to the warehouse for temporary storage or drop-off at the Logistics and Readiness Center (LRC) located in Aberdeen, Maryland, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) located in various locations, Government Installations, or other Government directed facility for final disposition.
  • Delivers various material received, off-loads material of various sizes, conducts inspection and sorting, item accountability, completes mandatory receipt documentation, schedules delivery of various supplies and equipment.
  • Follow directions from Supervisor and Government Leadership while also able to work independently and as part of a team and adhere to policies.
  • Understand ARMY Property guidelines to properly identify and mark items received for Property Accountability.
  • Support customers request to facilitate shipping of various assets/item through a third-party carrier or the ARMY Defense Tracking System (DTS).
  • Track shipments to destination and provide feedback to customer.
  • Process shipment discrepancies, returns, and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintain records for accountability and to an audit standard.
  • Support the disposition of all Government owned excess material/furniture/equipment/scrap materials (metal/wood), etc.
  • Operate a variety of trucks, forklifts, and tools to perform assigned logistics warehouse tasks. This could include (Maryland) Class A Trucks and/or Buses.
  • Perform Tool Crib & Supply Room Duties, tracking tools and supplies by ARMY Regulation (sign-out & sign-in).
  • Support excellence in customer service and deliver excellent customer service both to internal and external customer while having the ability to work collaboratively to build professional working relationships with colleagues, coworkers, and customers.
  • Identify safety concerns to Supervisor and other required stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to Government Lead when requested.
  • Provide and assist with required monthly data to Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters.
  • Make sure that all administrative functions/paperwork is in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork are accomplished on time and in the required format.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and be attentive to detail.
  • Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY.
  • Other duties as assigned.
